Our team consists of passionate individuals wanting to help the community. We are passionate about all under-served communities and welcome all to the clinic. We have a special passion for helping our community's refugees.

Cherisa has been passionate about helping low income populations for almost 20 years. It was during her first mission trip to Guatemala that her eyes were opened to a new group of people. She was blown away by how they seemed to work together as a community and even though they had little in the way of material possessions seemed to live happier lives. It was community and family values that has tied her to low income nonEnglish populations, though she loves helping everyone. She then traveled to the Philippines and then Haiti. It was in Haiti she was inspired by a local Haitian who built a school, church and medical clinic. Knowing there were people in Omaha who were not having their medical needs met she set out to develop a new type of medical clinic to try to meet those needs. She is a valuable member of our team as a Physician Assistant and does much of the day to day clinical work.

Dechhu was born and raised in a refugee camp in Nepal. Her father and his family were refugees in Nepal after being forced to leave Bhutan because they continued to speak the Nepalese language. Dechhu arrived in Omaha from Nepal in 2013 where she learned to speak English and performed well in school. In Nepal Dechhu’s family was poor and had no money for new clothes which has inspired her to work hard to be successful. She believes without struggle in life it is difficult to find the meaning of life and to learn what you can achieve. When you overcome difficulties in life you develop confidence that you can overcome future struggles. Dechhu is passionate about helping people and is working towards her bachelor’s degree in public health. She is an invaluable member of our team working as a community liaison, interpreter, clinical assistant, and manager of the clinic.

Carol and her husband Joe are blessed with four creative children, and 3 beautiful grandchildren. They originally hail from the Western Suburbs of Chicago. Carol has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology from Benedictine University, and a Master’s of Science in Bioethics from Creighton University. Carols’ passions include serving and defending human life from conception to natural death, as well as learning and teaching science. She has had careers in Chemical Research, Secondary Education and Pharmaceutical Consulting, and has served for 4 years on the board of directors for Cornerstone Nonprofit Healthcare. Finally, Carol takes great pleasure in being outside in nature, and enjoys the company of her two dogs. Carol, as a member of our board, makes critical decisions regarding the clinic and assists with ensuring smooth operations of the clinic and compliance review.
